LOAD BANKS

                FROMENT INDUCTIVE LOAD BANKS

Inductive or inductive reactive load banks are used in conjunction with and daisy-chained to Froment resistive load banks for testing AC supplies at non unity power factors. Most gen-sets are rated at 0.8 power (or Cos Ø), although fully variable lagging power factor loading is possible. Based on a rugged, heavy duty welded monocoque construction capacities are available up to 1066kVAr.

Inductive load banks can be customised for a particular application. Three phase inductors are used that also allow single phase operation when necessary. The inductors are iron cored and continuously rated for both 50 and 60Hz operation at the maximum voltages specified. Froment inductors are specifed to cope with typical harmonic distortion found in gen-set and renewable energy sources.

                FROMENT CAPACITIVE LOAD BANKS

Capacitive or capacitive reactive load banks are used in conjunction with and daisy chained to Froment resistive load banks for testing AC supplies at non unity power factors. Most generating sets are rated at 0.8 power factor (or Cos Ø), although fully variable leading power factor loading is possible. Based on a rugged, heavy duty welded monocoque constrution capacities are available up to 600kVAr.

Capacitive load banks can be customised for a particular application. Three phase capacitors also allow single phase operation. Capacitors are aluminium cased and are continuously rated for both 50 and 60Hz operation at the maximum voltages specified. All capacitive load banks are fitted with Sigma control as standard.

                 FROMENT COMBINED LOAD BANKS

Combined load banks provide both resistive and inductive (lagging) or resistive capacitive (leading) load and are used for testing AC supplies at non unity power factors. Most generating sets are rated at 0.8 power (or Cos Ø) and testing at rated conditions is conveniently done with a combined load bank. Heavy duty welded monocoque or modular chassis construction capacities are available up to 2000kVA (for larger capacities see our containerised load banks).

Combined load banks can be customised for a particular application. Stainless steel, non-finned, sheathed elements and iron cored inductors are used that allow both three and single phase operation. Continuously rated for both 50 and 60Hz operation at the maximum voltages specified. Combined load bank inductors are specifed to cope with typical harmonic distortion found in gen-set and renewable energy sources.

            FROMENT CONTAINERISED LOAD BANKS

Containersised load banks provide resistive only, resistive and inductive (lagging) or resistive capacitive (lagging) load and are used for testing AC supplies at both unity and non unity power factors. ISO containerised design load banks are available up to 6000kW and 6000kVA.

Containerised load banks can be customised for a particular application. Stainless steel, non-finned, sheathed elements, combined iron cored inductors and aluminium cased capacitors are used to allow both three and single phase operation. The containerised load banks are continuously rated for both 50 and 60Hz operation at the maximum voltages specified. The inductors are specifed to cope with typical harmonic distortion found in gen-set and renewable energy sources.

                FROMENT PORTABLE LOAD BANKS

Froment portable load banks are purely resisitve units used for testing AC supplies at unity power factors or for DC battery discharging and UPS testing. Load bank size is expressed in kW. Based on a bolt and riveted construction capacities are available up to 200kW.

Up to 25 Froment portable load banks can be linked togther in a network using the Sigma LT hand-held control. Stainless steel, non-finned, sheathed elements are used allowing both three and single phase operation.
