ACTUATORS SA AND SAR

Actuators of the SA type range for open-close duty and positioning duty are rated for class A and B or types of duty S2 - 15 min. A special version for longer running is available for the S2 - 30 minduty.

The modulating actuators of the SAR range are rated for class C or types of duty S4 - 25 %. Special versions for S4 - 50 % and S5 - 25 %are also available.

EXPLOSION-PROOF VERSIONS SQEx AND SQREx

Explosion-proof devices must be used in plants where potentially explosive atmospheres are likely to occur. These devices are designed so that they will not act as ignition source. Their constructive measures prevent the occurrence of ignition sparks or hot surfaces.

Certification is performed in close collaboration with national and international certification bodies.

COMBINATIONS WITH PART-TURN GEARBOXES

By combining the multi-turn actuators SA with the part-turn gearboxes GS, they are turned into electric part-turn actuators for higher torque requirements. These combinations supplement the part-turn actuator ranges SQ whose torque ranges are limited to 2,400 Nm.

ACTUATORS SGC AND SGCR

The "small" electric part-turn actuator range with integral controls.
All parameters are directly set at the actuator.

The controls contain switchgears, power supply unit, interface to the DCS. The component automatically switches the actuator off, once the valve end position is reached, motor overheating is detected or a torque overload has occurred.

All housing parts are made of aluminium. For this reason, the actuators are lightweight devices.

The actuators SGC are rated for class A and B or types of duty S2 - 15 min, the actuators SGCR for class C or types of duty S4 - 40%.

ACTUACTORS ED AND EQ

Electric actuators for controlling and automating final elements within the field of process engineering with swivel movements between 90° and 270° for e.g. butterfly valves, ball valves.

The actuators excel by their high positioning accuracy and their compact structure. They are designed for harsh industrial applications.

ACTUACTORS SGM AND SGMR

The "small" electric part-turn actuator range with integral controls.
All parameters are directly set at the actuator.

The controls contain switchgears, power supply unit, interface to the DCS. The component automatically switches the actuator off, once the valve end position is reached, motor overheating is detected or a torque overload has occurred.

All housing components are made of bronze, all external screws are made of stainless steel. This ensures complete resistance against sea water even over a longer time period.

The actuators SGM are rated for class A and B or types of duty S2 - 15 min, the actuators SGMR for class C or types of duty S4 - 40%.

COMBINATIONS WITH LINEAR THRUST UNITS

To perfom linear movements, e. g. in case of globe valves, the multi-turn actuator SA can be combined with the linear thrust unit LE. In case a lever arrangement has to be operated, the linear thrust unit can be mounted on a base.

ACTUATOR SDL

Electronic actuators with variable speed control. Electronic setting of torque and stroke with function monitoring. Power supply unit with wide range Input.

Actuator applications for demanding control automation tasks in industrial environments with potentially explosive atmospheres.

LEVER ACTUATORS

The lever actuators are based on the well-established part-turn actuator SQ and therefore have the same characteristics.

COMBINATIONS WITH LEVER GEARBOXES

For higher torque requirements, the multi-turn actuators SA can be combined with a part-turn gearbox with base and lever. The gearboxes are based on the worm gearboxes GS, which can be converted by mounting base and lever. Since this can also be done afterwards, this results in considerable advantages in stock-keeping.

AC

AC controls are your perfect solution if the application requires self-adapting control functions, data logging, confi gurable interface or if valve and actuator are to be integrated into a Plant Asset Management System due to advanced diagnostic functions.

AC controls are equipped with a parallel interface for free configuration and/or interfaces to fi eldbus systems as used within process automation.

The diagnostic functions comprise a time-stamped event report, torque characteristics logging, continuous recording of temperatures and vibration within the actuator and, furthermore, counting the number of starts and motor running times.

Further to the basic functions, AC controls offer a number of options to meet special demands. These include torque by-pass to unseat valves if tightly seated or functions for extending operating times to avoid water hammer within pipelines.

With the development of the AC 01.2, particular emphasis was laid on user-friendliness and the ease of integration of actuators into the DCS.

The large graphic display is used to perform menu-controlled programming of the controls, optionally using AUMA CDT via wireless Bluetooth connection. For fieldbus connections, AC programming can be performed from the control room.

AM

AM controls with simple design and defined features is the perfect choice when using parallel signal transmission and if a relatively low number of feedback signals is required.

Few parameters need to be defi ned via sliding switches during commissioning, e.g. type of seating in end positions.

Actuator control is made via operation commands OPEN, STOP, CLOSE.

Reaching an end position and collective fault signals are reported back to the DCS as feedback signals. These signals are visually displayed at the local controls via the indication lights. As an option, the valve position can be transmitted as 0/4 – 20 mA signal to the DCS.

AC SIL AND ACEx SIL

For highest requirements on functional safety (SIL) in compliance with IEC 61508 / IEC 61511, AUMA offer special actuator controls in AC.2-SIL version. They have been certified by TÜV with SA.2 / SAEx.2 multi-turn actuators in compliance with the latest (ed. 2) and most demanding edition of the IEC 61508 standard, and may be used up to SIL 2, in redundant systems (e.g. "1oo2") up to SIL 3. Controls can be supplied with the safe functions commonly used with actuators. In addition, one of the two ESD functions (Safe OPENING/CLOSING) can be combined with the Safe STOP function. Different types of seating in end position can be selected for the ESD function.

Since AC.2-SIL/ACEx.2-SIL controls are based on AC.2/ACEx.2 controls while the safety function is implemented by means of an additional PCB, regular convenience, control and monitoring functions of the AC.2 / ACEx.2 controls can be used during normal operation.
